On 24.3.2026 we will again organise tutorials for newcomers or interested developers. The tutorials will cover the following topics:

• FDO Specifications on what an FDO is and what not.
• FDO Services about the basic services being offered via the FDO Forum
• FDO Implementations about the state of work

Prerequisites

Terms such as metadata, interfaces, or protocols should not be unfamiliar. We will use Python as our programming language and will provide various libraries and services, including a Jupyter-Notebook-Service and Repository Services.

Topics

• Handle based PIDs for FDOs
• RO-Crates for FDO Metadaten
• Nanopublications for immutable FDOs

In the tutorials the participants will learn how to create/update FDOs and include them in scientific workflows.

Key experts will give the tutorials offering enough space for Q/A. the intention is to make recordings which then can be put online.
