Working Groups (WG) in the FDOF are set up to take care of a specific concrete and goal-directed tasks within the FDOF to foster the concept of FDOs and/or to stimulate essential work fostering implementations and infrastructure building. WGs

  • need to deliver reports about FDO aspects or components,
  • need to stimulate specific aspects of FDOs,
  • can focus on creating papers about FDO aspects,
  • organise a specific community interested in specific topics to be addressed.

WGs can be set up for a limited period or for continuous efforts, depending on the charter. But progress of the work needs to be reported regularly to the SC. WGs are open to anyone who shows willingness to contribute to their goals. WGs are chaired by two or more chairs who will be invited to become guests at the SC meetings.

Anyone in the FDO Community can suggest a new WG based on a clearly written charter, a clear relationship to FDOs and a clearly indicated leadership. SC will invite proposers to present their idea and make a decision. SC needs to be assured that FDOF has the capacity to host a new WG. WGs can also be created as joint activities with other initiatives.
